I already posted this project but messed up and forgot to specify that it was a nutrition paper and an essay. does anyone know how I can change professors if need be? i already chose someone yesterday but they didn’t accept my bid, i think because they realized that my paper wasn’t about what they thought it would be. Description: For this project, you will investigate the concepts of food security and food sovereignty, and how they are tied to the Alaska Native culture. Using the Food Sovereignty Assessment Tool (Learning Unit 3) and other resources, you will explore the similarities and differences between food security and food sovereignty, as well as, food systems closely tied to these concepts. You will discover what is included in food systems and how each component promotes health in the Alaska Native culture. Directions: From the resources presented in class so far, and other materials you discover in your research, prepare a paper with the following information: 1. Food Security and Food Sovereignty a. Define food security and food sovereignty. (10 points) b. Explain the similarities and differences (i.e., more than one) between food security and food sovereignty. (10 points) c. Explore ways (more than one) that food security and food sovereignty are tied to the Alaska Native culture. (15 points) 2. Food Systems a. Define food systems and its component parts. Please refer to the required reading in learning unit 3. (15 points) 3. Traditional Foods a. Explain the barriers (more than one) Alaska Native people face when it comes to traditional food consumption. Be sure to include a paragraph on rural Alaska Native people and another on those living in urban areas (two separate paragraphs). (15 points) 4. Alaska Food System and Health a. Explain how at least three of the five food system components could/can promote health in the Alaska Native culture. Looking at all five is preferred. Use specific examples when possible.
