Transportation Geography Final Project

You will choose a global transportation issue to examine and complete a 4-5 page paper.   You should choose one location and one aspect of transportation to examine.  The paper will consist of three parts:

  1. Background: What geographic characteristics have led to this issue? ?  Give some background on the location and the topic that you are examining.  Be sure to consider why this is a Geographic concern.
  2. Discussion of Issue: What is the problem? What is currently being done?  What policies are in place now?
  3. Future: How might this issue change in the future, with different technology, policies, finances, etc.? What more can be done than is being done now?

Presentation (20)
You will make a 5-7 minute presentation about your project to the class on December 12th during our scheduled Final Exam time using Powerpoint or similar software.  You should summarize the three areas of the project.  You should include at least one map in your presentation.  You will answer at least 2 questions/comments from the audience at the end of your presentation.  You should submit your Powerpoint or any electronic aides to me by 8:00 a.m. on December 12th.
Participation Requirement (5)
You must ask a question/comment on at least 2 other presentations.  The purpose of this is to create discussion about the topics covered.
